The Silverstone Mug full of History makes a perfect gift for anyone who loves their motor racing. This mug tells the history of the historic Silverstone race circuit, from the famous Hangar Straight to Becketts corner!
Inspired by Susan’s much loved father in law and classic car racer from the 1960s and 1970s, Tom Rose and former member of the British Racing Driver’s Club, the mug was designed and decorated with Susan’s hand drawn images of the circuit just before he died. Tom spent many hours telling tales of racing at the circuit with his friends.
His most treasured moment was driving the world famous Jochen Rindt around the circuit just a few years before his untimely death in 1970. Today the picture of Tom and Jochen hangs in the home of his grandson.
The Susan Rose China Office is based only 12 miles from Silverstone – close enough to almost hear the racing!
The circuit was originally opened in 1948 and has long been considered the home of British motor sport.
