Description
The Quest Expedition to Antartica was Sir Ernest Shackleton’s last trip south during which he planned to circumnavigate the continent.
He died on the way down on 5th January 1922 from a heart attack whilst anchored off South Georgia.
He was just 47 years old.
His grave can be found in the churchyard at Grytviken, South Georgia.
