An English bone china bauble decorated with Susan’s original watercolours of tawny owls and mistletoe
The bauble can be personalised with a Christmas greeting and name.
‘Ke-wick’ is a familiar call from a female tawny owl calling for her mate who answers with ‘Hoo-hoo-ooo’.
Tawny owls mate for life in a monogamous relationship and are a symbol of togetherness at Christmas.
The tradition of hanging mistletoe in your home was adopted by the early Christians from Norse mythology bringing good luck to a household. They also believed the prickly leaves of holly represented the crown of thorns with the berries being the drops of blood shed by Jesus.
All our china is handmade and handcrafted by one of our skilled china makers in the Longton district of Stoke-on-Trent.
