Personalised robin bauble

Description

This is Susan’s twist on a traditional Christmas bauble with 3 of our favourite Christmas images.

A robin, holly and mistletoe bauble which is personalised with a Christmas greeting and name.

The images are taken from original watercolour sketches by Susan Rose.

Robins became associated with Christmas in Victorian times when postmen wore bright red uniforms and were nicknamed ‘robins’.  As the giving of cards became popular people looked forward to the arrival of their post delivered by the ‘robins’. Over time it soon became popular to decorate Christmas cards with robins.

The tradition of hanging mistletoe in your home was adopted by the early Christians from Norse mythology bringing good luck to a household. They also believed the prickly leaves of holly represented the crown of thorns with the berries being the drops of blood shed by Jesus.

The bauble can be personalised with a Christmas greeting and name in 3 lines of text.

All our china is handmade and handcrafted by one of our skilled china makers in the Longton district of Stoke-on-Trent.

The china is gift wrapped in an English made presentation box.
