Celebrate every first in your child’s life starting with their first Christmas by giving this exquisite First Christmas Stork Bauble
Decorated on the front with Susan’s original hand drawn image with a 1930s feel of a Stork carrying a baby in a basket, she has been able to create a design which can be personalised with a child’s name on the front ribbon.
The legend of the stork originated in Greek mythology with the vengeful Goddess Hera, but it was also popular in Norse mythology and was common place for the Pagans but Hans Christian Anderson’s fable of “The Stork” firmly popularised the story of the stork delivering the new baby into the family.
The back of the bauble reveals the text “First Christmas 2017” and it can be personalised by the addition of the child’s name.
The design is decorated in traditional colours of blue and pink with ribbon to match. Interestingly, the Victorians believed that boys should wear pink not blue and the idea of pink for a girl and blue for a boy is something relatively recent.
This beautiful keepsake of a First Christmas Stork Bauble is finished with a hand-painted metallic silver top and comes ready to hang on the tree with a U.K. made ribbon tie in complementary colours of blue or pink.
These traditional tree decorations are hand-made and hand-decorated by one of our skilled china makers in the Longton district of Stoke-on-Trent – a region that has a long tradition of bone china production. We at Susan Rose China are proud to support British manufacturing at its finest.
Each bauble is individually gift wrapped and boxed
If you like the idea of this traditional design, we have also used this same idea but with more detail on our traditional two handled Loving Cup which comes beautifully finished with metallic gold rims – a beautiful idea to complement the Christmas Bauble described here.
