Celebrate the naming day or Christening of a new and precious baby with a treasure chest of information by giving our English bone china large loving cup as a family heirloom.
An exquisite, traditional piece decorated with a modern, bright contemporary design finished with a hand-painted gold rim. For generations these double handled loving cups have been given as family heirlooms to mark life changing, family events such as weddings, christenings and anniversaries. History tells us that the loving cup has been part of British history since Saxon Times as illustrated by The Worshipful Company of Distillers
Decorated with Susan’s original hand drawn images and watercolour paintings of toys depicting many of her childhood favourites – especially her Teddy Bear known affectionately as “Big Teddy” but in fact only 15cm tall!
The front of the loving cup is decorated with the child’s name whilst the back is filled with birth details including details of the date, time and weight of birth. We also add the Saints’s Day and meaning of the child’s name. On the inside rim we include details of the star sign, birth flower and birth stone.
In the floor of the loving cup we add the details of the Christening such as date and time and where it took place.
To finish off the gift there is room for a personal message on the bottom.
To create this family heirloom, simply supply us with the name, date of birth, time of birth, weight of the child and we will do the rest sending you a proof of the artwork for approval before sending it to our workshop in Stoke-on-Trent.
The china is despatched gift wrapped and boxed.
This traditional two handled loving cup is hand-made and hand-decorated by one of our skilled china makers in the Longton district of Stoke-on-Trent – a region that has a long tradition of bone china production. We at Susan Rose China are proud to support British manufacturing at its finest.
